Job Responsibilities

This position will report directly to the Executive Director within the Commission on Higher Education. The incumbent will be responsible for gathering, interpreting, and analyzing research and data on post-secondary institutions and programs, state and nationwide. Will distill findings and analyses into persuasive reports, memos, and fact sheets. Will track and analyze regulatory, legislative, school, sector, and research developments. Helps develop evidence-based policy recommendations. Will help respond to inquiries from coalition partners, policy makers, media, stakeholders, and others. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of experience in public administration, business administration, planning, or public relations. Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite products.

Preferred Qualifications

A master's degree with work experience in public administration, policy development, and higher education. Knowledge of pertinent research and analytical methodology and ability to apply such techniques to policy issues using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Knowledge of economic theories including micro-economics and the effect of proposed policies on production costs and prices, resource allocations, or consumer behavior. Experience working with relational database management systems, such as SQL and Oracle.
