Job Responsibilities

**The South Carolina Commission for the Blind has decided to re-advertise this position.  Previous applicants will still be considered and do not need to reapply.**
This position is located in the quaint city of Greenville, South Carolina.  Greenville is nestled into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range and is known for great shopping, outdoor entertainment and art.
The job responsibilities for the position consist of performing secretarial and receptionist duties such as typing, transcribing, filing, and other clerical procedures for the Vocational Rehabilitation Department in the Greenville catchment area.  The Vocational Rehabilitation Assistant will assist with the administrative responsibilities of consumer related activities associated with case development for the Vocational Rehabilitation Department in the counties of Greenville, Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Experience in a relevant program area.

Preferred Qualifications

Agency Preferred Experience:  An Associate's Degree and one year of clerical experience or a High School diploma and three years of clerical experience.

Additional Comments

Must be detailed oriented, a self-starter, familiar with office equipment, Microsoft Office products, and database programs.  Requires typing skills and knowledge of the SC Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) as it pertains to creating shopping carts for purchase orders.  Employee will be responsible for meeting all designated productivity in a quality manner with minimal supervision.  Travel required and occasional overnight stays.
