Purpose of Position:
This position will provide assistance with kitchen duties in a long term care facility. Duties may include but are not limited to, set up, serving and delivering meals, picking up trays, cleaning and sterilizing kitchen, utensils and equipment, and some limited cooking may be required.

This position is a Pay Band 25.

Eighth grade education.

Working Conditions:
This position will perform work primarily in a kitchen setting with exposure to high and low temperatures from ovens and freezers. Some standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching above head and shoulders as well as the ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds is required. Incumbent may be exposed to minor physical harm such as cuts from knives, kitchen machinery and other kitchen equipment. Frequent interaction with, residents, family and staff. Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language, which may include recipes, therapeutic diets and hazard warnings on cleaning products. Position is required to work holidays, callbacks and overtime. Essential functions of the job and specific physical ability requirements will be available at the time of interview or may be obtained at the New Mexico State Veterans' Home Human Resources office.
