Job Description...

This position is responsible for providing medical care and treatment to the patients; including, physical examinations, assessments of injuries/illnesses, preventive health measures, adverse drug reactions and drug interactions; and minor first aide to the staff at CFP. This position, on a regular basis, provides direct health care services to persons in the care or custody of the state and has unsupervised access to controlled substances.  Also, this position provides consultative services for a specialized program at CFP, including training other health care professionals and support staff in the medical review of cases.  This position is responsible for providing medical care and treatment to the patients; including, physical examinations, assessments of injuries/illnesses, preventive health measures, adverse drug reactions and drug interactions; and minor first aide to the staff at CFP. Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
 
Experience
Three years of post, medical degree, full-licensure experience in the practice of medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery.

Additional Requirements and Information

Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan.

Leave Time

Full time employees receive between 15 and 35 vacation leave days per year. Employees also receive 13 sick days per year, and employees receive 8 hours of leave to participate in certain school functions or community activities. Employees may also qualify for up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave for certain family or medical situations.

Deferred Compensation

Employees may invest income in a tax-deferred retirement investment program. The state offers two optional deferred compensation plans, the 457 and 401(k). Employees decide the amount you want deducted from your paycheck.


Retirement

Employees receive a minimum 4% state contribution toward their retirement fund. If an employee elects to contribute more, the state will match that percentage (up to 3%).
