Position Information

Plans, supervises and coordinates, through subordinate supervisors, the custodial, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, security and related laboring activities; supervises and coordinates stage and equipment set-ups; and performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in building maintenance and repair work, which must have included one year of supervisory experience.

Such experience must have demonstrated the knowledge of principles and practices of supervision; practices, tools, equipment and materials used in the building maintenance and construction trades; codes, ordinances and regulations applicable to building construction and maintenance; electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment commonly found in buildings; occupational hazards; safety practices and procedures; and the ability to plan, lay out, assign and review work of subordinates; determine need for repairs involving a variety of building trades; interpret blueprints and sketches; estimate time and materials needed to perform work projects; maintain records and prepare reports; issue and follow oral and written instructions; supervise and maintain harmony in work relationships among workers. 

License Requirement: Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3) prior to appointment.
