Baylands Park Gatehouse

25 hours per week for 7 months 

 
Note: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30).
 
The Department of Library and Community Services, Community Services Division is seeking a qualified individual to provide temporary administrative/cash handling support at the Baylands Park Gatehouse.

Essential Job Functions

(May include, but are not limited to, the following)
  • Collect vehicle entry fee at Baylands Park Gatehouse.
  • Sell, log and distribute Season Passes.
  • Perform general housekeeping inside gatehouse.
  • Reconcile and prepare deposit at end of each day
  • General customer service.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal customer service. The need to lift, drag and push files, paper, books and documents weighing up to 10 pounds is also required. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior cash handling and customer service experience desired
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be available to work 8 hour shifts on weekdays and weekends.
