Class Summary

The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources is a publicly-owned utility, committed to providing excellent water, wastewater and stormwater services at the best possible value to the citizens of Gwinnett County.  The department is widely recognized for service excellence in the operation of 2 water production facilities, 3 water reclamation facilities and 226 pump stations.  In addition, DWR  maintains 3,667 miles of water lines, 2,654 miles of sewer lines and 1,325 miles of stormwater pipe.  The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledge to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable, resource
 
The incumbent oversees day to day maintenance of computerized plant automation and control systems for DWR Water/Waste Water Plants and/or Pumping Stations.  This is a very technical position responsible for monitoring software and identification of problems with hardware/software in various control systems at the facilities as well as overall integrations between the systems. This includes the Foxboro Distributive Control System (DCS), Wonderware Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and various process control instrumentation. The position may have supervisory responsibility over other techs performing work in the field.

The grade for this position is C411.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics
  • Two years of electronics experience;
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
    sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
