Position Summary

This position is assigned to the BBCC Writing Center.  This position works closely with students, of all skill levels, in preparing course assignments.  

Essential Job Duties

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Advising students on writing assignments for all college courses.
  • Assisting students and tracking student progress in basic English skills as support for instructors of classes in developmental English, technical English, and English composition.
  • Assisting students in basic word processing skills (MS Word).
  • Performing other basic office duties, which include supervision of the Writing Center during assigned hours.

Minimum & Desirable Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA in English, Education, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word.
  • Previous experience working directly with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. 
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience assisting students and instructors in a similar lab setting.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency.
