Description

Brunswick County is seeking an Income Casework III/Program Specialist to join the Social Service Department. This position performs lead worker functions for the Family and Children Medicaid eligibility programs.

This position reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and works as a team with the FNS and Adult Medicaid program specialist. Acts as a lead worker, providing direction to Income Maintenance II staff specializing in both intake and ongoing Family and Children Medicaid services; delivering training to staff, second party reviews of casework, participating in process improvement, and responding to inquiries made by recipients, troubleshooting and liaison to NC FAST help desk. Duties will include caseworker functions, interviewing, processing, determining eligibility & ongoing maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum: or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact , which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program: or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks: or an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year experience as Universal Worker II.  Please submit copy of college transcripts with application.
Experience with NC FAST highly desirable.
