Description

M-NCPPC, Special Programs Division Youth Services is seeking specialized Youth Workers that can provide instruction to youth and teens ages 9 – 17 and young adults, ages 18-24 during out of school time, weekend, evenings, special event, and summer programs.  Youth Workers must be skilled in various subjects, including but not limited to: STEAM and computers, dance and fitness instruction, chess instruction, skill building, performing, visual, and literary arts, and health and nutrition.

  • Youth Worker hours vary and could include week day and possible weekend hours generally 3-8 hours.
  • Applicants are required to take the M-NCPPC defensive driving course.
  • M-NCPPC will provide supplies based on the needs of each Youth Worker.
  • Applicants will need to pass a fingerprint background check initiated by our office during the application process.
  • The hourly rate offered is commensurate with experience.
Preferred Candidates will possess:
  • Have a minimum of 4 years or more of teaching experience in their selected specialized field
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of working with youth, teens, and young adults
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of workplace decorum and professionalism
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of classroom management
  • The ability to supervise and work with various groups while maintaining composure and providing the energy needed to engage and support youth ages 9 and above.
A valid driver's license and the willingness to drive to various destinations in Prince George's County.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of experience in skill area or specific education and training in skill area which is equal to the experience level of requirement; or college student with a specialization in specific area; ability to demonstrate and perform in skill area.
