Job Description

Desired Qualifications

The Advertising and Sponsorship Programs Coordinator is responsible for two programs focused on increasing VTA revenues that seek to develop and grow revenues from third-party marketing of VTA assets. The first program involves the sale of advertising on VTA facilities and transit vehicles through outdoor advertising firms under contract to VTA, including new forms of digital advertising. The second program involves sponsorships, naming rights, and similar activities that generate compensation from companies for use of VTA assets. As part of this work, the Advertising & Sponsorship Programs Coordinator oversees preparation of various market research and feasibility studies, develops and implements additional revenue generating programs (for example, Digital Advertisement), and manages special projects as needed.

A successful candidate for the Advertising and Sponsorship Programs Coordinator position will possess a minimum of two years of increasingly responsible experience performing advertising or sponsorship related duties for a public or private sector organization.

Definition

VTA's internal classification for this position is a Management Analyst.  Under general supervision, a Management Analyst performs a variety of professional level analytical staff studies and/or projects concerned with the improvement of management functions, practices, and services or the implementation of program objectives.

Distinguishing Characteristics

The Advertising and Sponsorship Programs Coordinator position is placed at the journey level within the Management Analyst classification series, and the description of Distinguishing Characteristics is based on that for Management Analysts.  Positions in this class perform a wide variety of management analysis activities.  Assignments at this level require the use of considerable discretion, judgment, and interpersonal skill.  Recommendations and commitments have considerable weight; personal contacts involve negotiating, advising, and gaining acceptance of one's ideas by others.  Positions at this level may provide training and lead direction over other analysts, Aides, and clerical support staff.

This class is distinguished from the lower level of Associate Management Analyst in that incumbents of the Management Analyst class receive less supervision and are expected to perform more responsible assignments with a great deal of independence; and from the higher level of Senior Management Analyst in that the latter is responsible for supervising the work of professional analytical staff and performing the most complex professional level analytical staff studies and projects.
