Job Summary

Practical Nursing Adjunct Instructors needed for the Summer 2018 semester to teach day, afternoon and evening classes.

Louisiana Delta Community College, located in beautiful northeast Louisiana, boasts eight campuses and two sites located in: Monroe, West Monroe, Bastrop, Jonesboro, Ruston, Tallulah, Lake Providence, and Winnsboro with a service area of approximately 2,100 square miles, LDCC is positioning itself to meet the growing needs of her communities.

Major employers in the service area include ANGUS Chemical, Chase, CenturyLINK, Foster Farms, and St. Francis Medical Center. LDCC offers transfer programs, career and technical education, health science programs, adult education, and customized training. LDCC has an operating budget of approximately 32 million dollars and serves about 9,000 credit and non-credit students annually.

The School of Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, & Math consists of the following programs:

Barber Styling, Forensic Science & Technology, LA Transfer of Science, LA Transfer of Arts - Criminal Justice, Nurse Assistant, Paramedic (EMT), Patient Care Technician, Practical Nursing, Registered Nursing, Respiratory Therapy

Examples of Duties

- provide classroom instruction in field/discipline for day and/or evening classes

- may teach up to 12 credit hours or 29 contact hours

Minimum Qualifications

Academic courses: All candidates must hold a minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited college with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline. Experience in teaching is desired. Official copy of transcripts are needed along with the application.

Technical courses: Minimum of a high school diploma/GED, Associate Degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university (Bachelors Degree is preferred), four years or the equivalent of four years full-time work experience in the field related to the occupational program, and any certifications required by a regulatory agency or licensing board.

Developmental courses: All candidates must hold a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited college or university including 12 undergraduate hours in the teaching discipline.

All candidates must possess intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and/or Microsoft PowerPoint. Ability to provide good customer service, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment.

PREFERRED:

Experience with higher education, knowledge of BANNER.

Supplemental Information

Salary for academic/developmental courses: $600 per credit hour

Salary for technical courses: $30 per hour
