Description

The College Park Aviation Museum seeks Museum Educators to assist staff with planning, coordinating, and staffing the Museum; leading STEAM-based educational tours to over 8,000 students and adults each year, as well as assisting with program development and implementation for family and public programs. With the upcoming centennial celebration of the first Air Mail flight, Museum Educators will be encouraged to assist with program development, exhibit interactives, as well as implementing programming and activities during the celebration and beyond. In addition, Museum Educators are also responsible for managing daily museum operations on both weekdays and weekends, this includes opening and closing the museum, handling point of sale transactions, and acting as point person for the public. Successful candidates will be self-starters who have experience in informal or classroom teaching, familiarity with k-12 curriculum, as well as knowledge of Museum and STEAM programming.
 
The College Park Aviation Museum (CPAM) is dedicated to preserving and promoting aviation innovations at College Park Airport and in Prince George's County while fostering research, inventiveness, and lifelong curiosity about the history and science of flight.

Minimum Qualifications

College degree in appropriate field together with previous progressively responsible management  experience which is equal to managing and supervising a facility and/or program is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the applicant's ability to manage or assist in the management or supervision of program or facilities related to appropriate area of operation.
